On Wednesday June 13, 2012, bikers will be greeted at the Centre for Learning Aatrium bikeracks with free cupcakes. First year Marketing students are trying to encourage staff and students to “Bike to OC.” All through the week there are prizes for bikers as well!
80 students in Arnica Rowan’s BUAD 116 Marketing class are applying their new advertising, publicity and promotions knowledge to a great cause. Their work is flooding the Kelowna campus, as the first year students are trying to switch students and staff away from bottled water to tap water. This weekend students from the Land and Food Systems program at UBC-Vancouver are coming to the Vernon Okanagan College campus. The group is researching how we can increase student and community involvement with the demonstration farm on the Vernon campus.
When students at Okanagan College’s new Centre of Excellence in Penticton plug in their laptops this fall, they’ll only have to look up and outside to see the source of their energy.
