Water is always a burning issue in the Okanagan, but the conditions change every year, and we are faced with adapting to a new (even more variable) environment. This talk, led by Anna Warwick Sears, is an overview of what we know and what we are setting out to know about collaborative water management in the Okanagan. This is an opportunity to ask questions and get answers about the current and future state of water in the Valley.
Anna Warwick Sears is the Executive Director of the Okanagan Basin Water Board, a local government agency addressing the shared concerns of valley communities. Dr. Sears has a Ph.D. in Biology, and has been working for more than eight years in watershed management.
The Kelowna Trades Complex project will be the first of its kind in British Columbia to transform a complex of this age, size and diversity into a modern learning space that is energy neutral. The vision preserves the existing shops and Trades’ building structure while expanding and transforming the entire complex into the contemporary spaces learners need today.
A new organization in Kelowna is in the process of starting a Car Share Co-Op in Kelowna.
The Okanagan Valley is without a formal car sharing service today. However, the Okanagan Car Share Co-op wants to provide car sharing services to the citizens, educational and public institutions, and businesses within the Okanagan Valley.
