On September 14 and 15th, Kalamalka Garden is kicking off its first planting project by developing a demonstration food forest area. A food forest is an example of the permaculture landscapes that Kalamalka Gardens will feature and over 150 trees, bushes, shrubs, herbs, vines and flowers will be planted. We are looking for volunteers to help out with the planting and landscaping.
On Wednesday June 13, 2012, bikers will be greeted at the Centre for Learning Aatrium bikeracks with free cupcakes. First year Marketing students are trying to encourage staff and students to “Bike to OC.” All through the week there are prizes for bikers as well!
A new organization in Kelowna is in the process of starting a Car Share Co-Op in Kelowna.
The Okanagan Valley is without a formal car sharing service today. However, the Okanagan Car Share Co-op wants to provide car sharing services to the citizens, educational and public institutions, and businesses within the Okanagan Valley.
