Water expert speaks on future and Western Canada’s climate

by Arnica Rowan

The chair of the United Nation’s Water for Life Decade will be at Okanagan College’s Vernon campus Thursday, Nov. 15 as part of the ongoing Science in Society Series.

Bob Sandford will be presenting his lecture at 7:30 p.m. on The Snows of Yesteryear and the Future Climate of the Canadian West.

“We are entering a period in which water is going to do things we haven’t seen it do before – for which no mathematics yet exist to make accurate predictive modeling possible,” said Sandford, who has authored more than 20 books, including three on water issues in Canada including his most recent book Restoring the Flow: Confronting the World’s Water Woes.

Tickets for the event, which is held in conjunction with the Okanagan Science Centre, are available in advance for $7 at the Okanagan Science Centre, or at the door ($10).
