Good food box gets going in Vernon

by Arnica Rowan

The Good Food Box Program is a non-profit, community program that helps individuals and families get fresh produce into their meals at a low cost.  For a few years now, the Vernon Campus has assisted students  in need (who are referred) to have a box each month.  You can also purchase a box for your own family.

The monthly cost is $15.  The VSAOC (Vernon Student Association – Okanagan College) has graciously helped with this cost, but as you can imagine, this adds up over time.

We are kindly asking that anyone who wishes, can anonymously sponsor a student each month, or, make any kind of donation to the VSAOC to help defray these costs.  Already for the month of September, we are helping 8 students, with more being identified as the semester continues.

We sincerely appreciate any help you can provide, and thank you in advance for doing so.

Additionally, this program is for anyone – so if you would like to purchase one (or more) Good Food Box for you/your family, please see Eric in the student office above the cafeteria.
