Good Food Box delivered in Vernon

Did you know that OC staff and students can get healthy, fresh and local food delivered to the college in Vernon?

Each month, staff can pay Eric in the Vernon Student Association office, and a week later, pick up their fresh bood box. This healthy initiative is in cooperation with the “Good Food Box” non-profit, a buying coopertive designed to help people in the North Okanagan get fresh food.

Please contact Eric to prepay for your own box! And don’t forget to bring your own reuseable grocery bags.

Good Food Box supports several innovative grassroots projects that promote healthy eating, teach food preparation and cultivation, develop community capacity and create non market based forms of food distribution.

A sample good food box:
5lbs Potatoes
1lb 15Onions
2lbs Carrots
1 Romaine Lettuce
1 Bunch of Broccoli
1 BC Long English Cucumber
2lbs Yams
1lb Roma Tomatoes
3lbs Mac Apples
1lb Red Grapes
12 Oranges

All for $15!
